Our Sports

Athletics

Rockland Primary athletics starts every year on a high and busy note. Over the last decade our school has done well. Our educators motivate and encourage all learners to participate in athletics and use their skills to develop our athletes to their full potential.

Chess

At Rockland Primary we hope that our positive spirit prevails and we look forward to our club strengthening as new eager talented players join our ranks. “Chess makes man wiser and clear sighted.” Vladimir Putin – President of Russia

Soccer

Free kicks, headers and penalty shoot outs, we could only be talking about soccer. Rockland Primary has a proud soccer history. The boys can’t wait for the soccer season to start and attend practice religiously. The boys are encouraged to develop their talents and are taught valuable skills that could be applied later in life. Our coaches foster good sportsmanship and camaraderie amongst team-mates. Our boys are passionate about soccer. It is in their blood. They eat, sleep and play soccer. This shows true dedication.

Netball

Netball is always encountered with great enthusiasm amongst the girls and this tends to be the highlight of our winter sport. The spirit and the teamwork of the girls are unstoppable. Our girls show great sportsmanship whilst playing actively in the D2 League as well as tournaments at various schools. Due to our all-weather netball courts we can put in many hours of practice and motivate and develop each girl to their full potential. We should always remember it is not about being better than someone else, but about being better than you were the day before.

Our curriculum is designed to engage and challenge children at every stage

“Even when you’ve played the game of your life; it’s the feeling of teamwork that you’ll remember. You’ll forget the plays, the shots and the scores, but you’ll never forget what it felt like to play in a team.” Deborah Miller Palmore – Basketball Olympian
